Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is an American actor and TV host. Her role as the lead on the TV show 'The Closer,' is known all around the globe as well as in America specifically. Sedgwick started to become attracted to the arts, Broadway, and acting as she reached the age of 12 old. She was introduced to Broadway by her mother, she was interested in the field. Sedgwick received her first professional role at the age of 16 on the television show "Another world". It was her desire to be a renowned actress, not small television roles that first attracted her. Her debut big screen performance was in a film called "Born on Fourth of July,' in which she starred alongside Tom Cruise. Following the popularity of the film, Sedgwick got more roles in films such as "Singles," "Heart & Souls and 'Phenomenon' etc. In a television movie called "Lemon Sky" Sedgwick met Kevin Bacon, an actor. They were married when they were just 22. Sedgwick left a special mark in the history of American TV industry with her flawless performing in "The Closer," a series that was on for seven seasons and earned her numerous the prestigious prizes like Golden Globe and Emmy.
